iAreaDisaster Prevention: Hurricane Protection, here you will find more information about Ensuring Business Continuity during a hurricane.

We all know that our companies are at risk for losing their data and information - and somehow we have all felt the pain of losing a file, lets see what happens when a huriicane strikes. How will this effect your business.

Recovery is no way to survie you need prevention

Experian has published the results of a new study that examines the effects of Hurricane Katrina on businesses in the Gulf States. The study, based on 635,000 businesses from Experian's business information database.

The study also showed that the hurricane affected more small businesses (businesses with fewer than 50 employees) than any other business segment. Experian's trade data, which is aggregated from accounts receivable information provided by more than 4,000 contributors, showed that 72 percent of the outstanding balances were owed by this segment of businesses.

Companies with fewer than 50 employees are most vulnerable to any business interruption, and the information from the study suggests that suppliers to these businesses may be affected by this perceived vulnerability.

Additionally, Experian's research shows that 31 percent of the outstanding balances were associated with the smallest business segment - those with five or fewer employees.

Dont let this be you no buisness and tons of debt, with no way to collect money, what there findings did not tell you is that this can be prevented.

93% of businesses that experience a disaster go out of business within 5 years - US Department of Labor

80% percent of all companies that experience a business interruption of greater than five days, without recovery plans, go out of business.

Five days to recover or your company is gone and you still owe money.

Most companies have a plan in place if an unpredictable event occurs. But that's part of the problem, it's a plan! A plan is something that may come into action after the disaster has already happened. Many businesses think they are prepared - and even take some steps to prevent data loss, such as backing up. But they are still left with the tsk to rebuild and that can take weeks or months,
with iAreaOffice there is no reovery time you buisness is never interupted.

whats are the odds ?? are you willing to take that risk whats the warning signs ?

2006 Hurricane Season forecasts

Dr. Gray's team issued its first extended-range forecast for the 2006 season, predicting a well above-average season (17 named storms, 9 hurricanes, 5 of Category 3 or higher).

Similar to the 2005 season, the team predicted a high potential for at least one major hurricane to directly impact the United States: the forecast indicates an 81% chance of at least one major hurricane striking the U.S. mainland (including a

64% chance of at least one major hurricane strike on the East Coast of the United States including the Florida peninsula, and a

47% chance of at least one major hurricane strike on the Gulf Coast of the United States from the Florida Panhandle westward).

The current series of busy seasons is part of a long-term cycle that climatologists had predicted years ago. The Atlantic is in its 11th year of heightened activity. It is expected to "continue for the the next decade or perhaps longer," said officials with the National Weather Service last week.
